Joye eGo-CC Review

Joye eGo-CC 1000mAh Starter Kit – $59.99

Donated by MyVaporStore for Spinfuel eMagazine

By the time I started vaping the simple atomizer had gone to the wayside, being replaced by more sophisticated clearomizers, Vivi Nova’s, and so forth. The first time I vaped with the simple atomizer was when I reviewed the eLips-C by Ovale, supplied by our friends at Koko Vapes. I loved it, and I continue to use it as my primary PV. That being the case, when it was time to review the new Joye eGo-CC Smart Kit, supplied by our dear friends at MyVaporStore, I pleaded my case and won the chance to review it. Yay me!MyVaporStore - Joye eGo-CC Review Spinfuel eMagazine

Like the eLips-C the Joye eGo-CC uses the same type of atomizer, the replaceable atomizer head with the pointy tip that the juice is sucked into. It’s a simple process really, the juice is pulled into the atomizer through that sharp point and heated to release vapor. There is no cotton or polyfill material that you see in cartomizers, no wicks that you see in clearomizers, and no tiny short wicks that screw into Kanger EVOD’s and the like. The atomizer is just a ceramic heating element in the head and it vaporizes pure juice, with nothing between them. To me there is no better way to get the real flavor of any eJuice.  The replaceable atomizer head is a cinch to replace, and they are not that expensive. (see below)

The eGo-CC

The new Joye eGo-CC is really an updated eGo-C with a new clearomizer. Not really much to say about the battery actually. The one I received for review is the 1000mAh version, which lasts an average of 8 hours of moderate to almost-heavy vaping.

MyVaporStore - Joye eGo-CC Review Spinfuel eMagazine The kit is called eGo-CC because of the clearomizers “changeable” atomizer head and it’s “clear” juice window. The see-through window is the heart of eGo-CC clearomizer, or so they say. I think it’s the atomizer.

The eGo series batteries come in different capacities 650mAh and 1000mAh; it includes short circuit protection, over-charge protection and discharge protection, making it a safer-than-ever battery, especially for an eGo battery. It also features the 5-click on/off operation.

The 1000mAh ‘upgraded’ battery can change modes as well. Using the eGo-C 5-click functionality you can operate it in ‘regulated’ mode (indicated by a blue LED) and it will produce a constant output of 3.3v. In the unregulated mode (indicated by an orange LED) will increase the output power by up to 0.5w depending on remaining battery capacity.

The replaceable atomizer head has an inner ceramic base, and it’s quite small and easy to replace, it’s time that this old-school atomizer made a decent comeback.

The kit includes the battery and the brand new Joye clearomizer. After a week of heavy vaping the clearomizer never leaked through the bottom because of a new upper air inlet.  The clearomizer itself is also compatible with all the batteries in the eGo series, and its available at MyVaporStore as a separate item. It holds only 1.3ML of juice, so you’ll add eLiquid to it a few times before you have to recharge the battery.

When you buy the Joye eGo-CC kit you get:

  • 1 x eGo-CC Plastic Mouthpiece
  • 1 x eGo-CC Chrome Mouthpiece
  • 2 x eGo-C Atomizer Head – Type A
  • 1 x eGo-CC Atomizer Body
  • 1 x eGo-C Battery
  • 1 x Ego Rapid USB Charger
  • 1 x Mini AC Wall to USB
  • Comes in Black or Brushed Steel

Real World Impression

MyVaporStore - Joye eGo-CC Review Spinfuel eMagazineThe 1000mAh eGo-CC battery is rather long, longer than I’m used to, but the battery life is excellent.  Combined with the new clearomizer I enjoyed hours and hours of clean tasting vapor. In fact, the atomizer delivers such true flavor that I am going to start using it as my exclusive kit for eLiquid reviews.

There are some drawbacks to the new kit though. Like I said, the battery is long, and it took a bit of getting used to. The clearomizer works wonderfully well, but the 1.3ml capacity is small compared to most clearomizers on the market today.

All in all, the Joye eGo-CC ‘kit’ is a decent value at $59.99. MyVaporStore sells additional eGo-CC Atomizer Body for $16.95.  If you already have some eGo batteries and chargers then you can experience the new clearomizer alone and pick up the eGo-CC by itself.

It is a JoyeTech product, which means it’s a quality product. If you’re thinking about buying a kit for backup or as a primary PV, I think you’ll really enjoy it. It comes with 2 atomizer heads so you’ll be good to go for about a month with moderate vaping, and when you need more you can buy them at MyVaporStore as well. A 5-pack of atty heads are $24.95, and with proper care 5 heads should last you about 3 months.

  2. I’m curious, when I pour the liquid in it comes out the mouth piece. Am I missing something? Otherwise, I love the eGo-cc.

  3. A five pack of heads for almost $25.00. And the heads will only work on a Joye product such as the eGo-CC.

Or a five pack of BCC heads for an Evod or Aro for around six bucks that will fit on any eGo threaded battery.
    Hmmm…lemme think…lol..

  4. how exactly do you clean and care for a ceramic atomizer? if it has no wicks, i’d just assume that you could rinse the thing somehow and it’d work like new again until it eventually malfunctions from wear and tear that is. what factors have caused you to have to replace the atomizer?

    • The ceramic head will last a good long time if you take of it. Thick juice, or heavy cinnamon or citrsus juice can eat away at the ceramic, gunk it up and just accelerate the wear and tear. They’re not meant to last forever. But, during the review time I didn’t have the need to replace the atomizer, I just did it to see how easily the procedure went. You can rinse it off, as many vapers do, but be careful and make sure it’s completely dry before using it.. – Keira

  5. I picked up one of these right when they came out. The top air flow seemed like an excellent design. I was a bit skeptical of the atomizer design though. With both the stock atomizer and a replacement, the first 3-5 vapes are ok when it’s been sitting for a while, but after that it gets quite harsh like it is not wicking well at all. I’ve gotten the same results with stock and rebuilt atomizers, using twisted silica as well as mesh. I really want to like this but in this game there is little worse than a harsh dry hit. I got a 2-pack and gave my cousin one. After about 2 weeks, the plastic window just completely disintegrated from the outside, almost like it started coming off in layers. It was not caused by neglect. I will keep playing with it, but as of right now I am quite disappointed with the wicking performance of the CC atomizer and I can’t give my recommendation for it.

    • Jim, you sound like you’ve been vaping for a while, so its probably silly to ask this, but what type of eJuice are you vaping with the eGo-CC? I found thick, VG heavy juice will clog my atomizer a whole lot easier than any other type, and that these attys need to be cleaned more often. As long as I keep it clean and I’m not running 100% VG I’m okay, though on my time I prefer 80/20 or 70/30 which is thin juice. Could that be your issue? As for the issues with the plastic window, again, high citrus or cinnamon juice is going to tear up plastic tanks. – K

    • Hi Pete! Like I said in the review, I never vaped with that type of atomizer either until I used the elips-c from Koko vapes. I was surprised by the flavor, and vapor too. The ego-cc is sort of like a throwback but not, if you know what I mean. Advanced electronics, and a straight up atomizer. I’m sold! Thanks for the comment.- Keira

      • Hi Keira.. I can relate to how pleased you are with the performance of your Elips-C, as well as this Ego-CC. They provide such true tasting vapes.. with none of that wicking material that keeps trying to get in between your juices & atomizer. The 1.3ml constant re-fill process would be quite the drag (no pun intended… lol) so was just wondering if you’ve tried the JOYETECH ECA yet? It’s an accessory that came out a couple months ago, for the Evic, that didn’t really catch on for some reason. Idk why.. with the whole RBA trend, people wanting the flavors of dripping, all the alternate wicking materials that keep popping up in search of better taste/experience- as well as the “hybrid” craze lately.. you’d think it would be selling like crazy. Just like the Elips-C, Ego-CC & their baby brother the E-roll (who, btw is even thirstier- its mere .04ml tank makes refilling a real P.I.T.A. Tho it IS great for testing juices without waste or flavor creep) ~Anyhooo… check one out online sometime- It’s the same basic concept as the Elips-C, Ego-CC, etc… except, when used on an EVIC, (can be used on any 510/Ego device depending which threading you choose. Comes in Style A or B- one being 510 threaded & one uses the outer Ego threading) the device looks more like a hybrid. You’d also have the ability to adjust the voltage/wattage then, & tailor your vape too. It uses the Ego-C atomizer head replacements you already have (lovin’ the LR ones) & has the same new air path, for great flavor & way less chance of leaking……. Oh, but best of all… it holds…. 3.5ml — Clean, strong, as intended, & interference free atomization of your e-juices… Ohhh yah, I definitely get where you’re coming from, there! =) Happy vaping. -Amanda
